Summer in Denmark

What is a heatwave?

The Danish meteorological definition of a heatwave is when the average of the highest recorded temperatures measured over three consecutive days exceeds 28° C.

Heatwaves and mortality

A higher incidence of warm waves and heatwaves can have serious health consequences, especially for the elderly, infirm and very young children. However, they can be completely or partly countered through planning and preventive measures.
