Optometrists/contact lens optometrists educated outside Denmark (including optometrists/contact lens optometrists from the Nordic countries and the EU/EEC countries) must hold Danish authorization to be able to practice in Denmark and the Faroe Islands.As a result of international agreements, different rules govern the recognition of qualifications obtained abroad, depending on the applicant’s nationality, and where the education took place. For this reason, applicants are divided into two groups.

Nordic educated optometrists/contact lens optometrists Optometrists/contact lens optometrists educated in a EU country Optometrists/contact lens optometrists educated outside the nordic countries and EU (third countries) There is a fee of DKK 313 for each registration, as optometrist and for registration as contact lens optometrist to be paid when the Board has evaluated your application.
